The steep and majestic mountains of Connemara located in the west of Ireland serve as the setting for the birth of this whiskey with which the Cooley distillery has revived the Irish tradition of drying malted barley on hearths made of peat. The smoke that passes through the malted barley during the drying process gives the whiskey its peat flavor and aroma. This traditional distillation method combined with natural ingredients and long years in oak barrels results in the Connemara Pure Malt Irish Whiskey Peat distilled in Copper Alembic.
