It doesn't happen very often that a secret which had been forgotten and locked away for many years is today re-discovered. Exactly this has happened in the world of Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Since its opening in 1898 the BenRiach Distillery has been producing small batches of whiskey that were only enjoyed by the lucky few who managed to get their hands on a bottle. In April 2004, the distillery that had previously belonged to the Chivas brothers was acquired by 3 businessmen; led by Billy Walker, an eminence in the world of Scotch Whiskey, reopened in the heart of Speyside the new BenRiach distillery The Benricah Distillery Company was born. Again as in the past BenRiach produces its Single Malt Scotch Whiskey as an independent distillery.
