Rum Old Port 40º

A dark and smooth Old Port Rum rum possesses the unique aroma of Indian sugar cane. Distilled and bottled by Amrut Distilleries Ltd this Rum has a slight touch of oak and vanilla that can only be imparted by the sugar cane that grows in the Himalayan Rivers. Rum is a very popular drink in India and the Amrut distilleries have a long tradition of producing this drink. Amrut Distillers Ltd made its first rum called - Amrut XXX - in 1948 and is now one of the largest suppliers of rum in South India. Old Port Rum is distilled following a family recipe closely guarded by Amrut's master distillers. The sugar cane used to produce this Rum comes from Belgaum, a region of India bathed by mighty rivers that fill their beds with water from the Himalayas. Once the maceration process is finished, the rum is transported to the Amrut distillery to be bottled in a beautiful flared bottle that does not go unnoticed by anyone. These bottles are handmade one by one in Calcutta so as not to break the entire artisan process that surrounds Old Port Rum. To all this we must add the climatology of India, a tropical climate with unique characteristics suitable for the production of Rum.
