Mariano Garcia

Mariano García is, without a doubt, one of the best and most media-friendly winemakers in Spain. Born in Valbuena de Duero in 1944, he began oenology in the mid-sixties. In 1968 he produced his first vintage at Bodegas Vega Sicilia, where he remained until 1998, when he took over the management of Bodegas Mauro. Over the years he has developed his career making wines in Toro (Bodegas San Román), Ribera del Duero (Bodegas Aalto and Garmón Continental), Rioja (Baynos) and Bierzo (Valeyo).
