Melting waters from the Himalayas flow down the Sutlej River, irrigating the entire region with pure, crystal-clear water. The cold winters and strong summers create a unique climate that gives the grain unmistakable qualities that make it acquire a flavor that no other grain in the world has. The malting process is carried out by hand to preserve the Spirit of Amrut Single Malt Indian Whisky. The malted barley is then transported to South India to the production unit in Bangalore where it is carefully crushed and distilled in small ovens. to preserve its natural aromas. The whiskey continues to mature in oak barrels imported from Kentucky in a tropical climate with unique conditions. The barrels are stored in a warehouse located in Bangalore, the "Garden City" of India, a place that is located at an altitude of 3000 feet above sea level and that enjoys a mild climate all year round. To maintain the natural character of the product the Whiskey is not cold filtered (non chill-filled). This makes the Whiskey acquire a color tone, aroma and natural flavor that only the most exclusive Malt Whiskeys have.
